Cincinnati Earns 2026 Best Midwest Cities Award from Midwest Living

Cincinnati has earned another reason to be added to your travel plans: Midwest Living named it one of the Best Cities in the Midwest in its 2026 “Best of the Midwest Awards”, honoring cities that provide memorable experiences for visitors. Each year, editors at Midwest Living select nearly 150 winners from 16 categories, celebrating outstanding cities, hotels, restaurants, and travel moments throughout the region. Cincinnati’s inclusion underscores its reputation as a lively city rich in creativity, culture, and hospitality.
The write-up notes, “Cincinnati still surprises visitors who think they’ve got it pegged,” pointing out iconic events and attractions such as Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, Over-the-Rhine, Findlay Market, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati Reds, Roebling Suspension Bridge, Kentucky bourbon, and BLINK.
It adds, “It’s simply a city with a lot of cool stuff to discover—and that keeps us coming back.”
Cincinnati also received recognition in the Best New Hotels and Best Pizza Restaurants categories, with Hotel Celare and A Tavola being honored. Midwest Living appreciated Hotel Celare’s vibrant mural by Miss Birdy, its Iris Café, and The Vick rooftop bar. It praised A Tavola’s hot Neapolitan-style pizza and creative topping combinations, like the Fig and Prosciutto pie.
