Mint Julep is a distinguished Southern tradition originating in the 18th century and has served as the official beverage of the Kentucky Derby since 1939. Beginning in 2013, April has been designated as Mint Julep Month®, recognising this renowned bourbon cocktail and its association with springtime in Kentucky.
This year, elevate your appreciation for juleps by participating in the Mint Julep Month® Trail. Visit select venues throughout Louisville, including renowned distillery bars offering traditional juleps, interactive cocktail-making workshops, and mural sites ideal for commemorating the experience with a julep-themed photograph.
Check in throughout the month to earn points and redeem them for prizes — think: Mint Julep stickers, a limited-edition T-shirt, and leather Mint Julep recipe coasters. Plus, if you check in at six or more spots, you’ll be entered to win the ultimate Mint Julep Month Grand Prize Package with Mint Julep-related swag.
You can redeem your points at the Louisville Visitor Center (301 S. 4th St.) or online. If redeeming online, a Louisville Tourism Representative will contact you via email to verify your mailing address for shipping. Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.
