Why would Private Transportation be Needed for the Derby?

What dates are considered “Derby Rates” days?
Louisville will be hosting a variety of exciting events around the Kentucky Derby. The official Derby Rates period begins on Thursday, April 30, 2026, and extends through Sunday, May 3, 2026. During these dates, special pricing and packages apply for transportation and related services in the area.
What does pricing include?
Pricing includes transportation in one of our meticulously maintained and thoroughly detailed vehicles, ensuring a clean, comfortable, and stylish ride for every client. Each vehicle is carefully inspected before service to guarantee reliability and safety. Your journey will be guided by one of our vetted, private, and personal chauffeurs—professionals selected for their experience, professionalism, and dedication to customer satisfaction. Our chauffeurs are committed to providing courteous and discreet service, helping you navigate Derby festivities with ease and peace of mind.
What if we need to leave early due to weather or unexpected illness?
Your chauffeur is always prepared and on standby throughout your Derby experience. Should you need to depart early for any reason—including changing weather or an unexpected illness—simply text or call your chauffeur directly. They will promptly coordinate your pickup and ensure a smooth, comfortable exit, allowing you to leave when you need without worry or delay.
Can you do Airport/Hotel transfers?
Yes, Pegasus Global offers airport transportation year-round, and we will certainly be available from Thursday, April 30, 2026, to Sunday, May 3, 2026, for airport transfers.
What kind of vehicles can I book?
Our Sprinter vans, limo buses, mini-buses and motor coaches accommodate up to 14 passengers. For groups of 13 or fewer, we provide transportation in our SUVs and sedans. We recommend no more than 3 passengers in our sedans and 6 passengers in our SUVs.
Will I need a parking pass?
Yes. However, there are a few options.
Official On-Site Parking Passes For Churchill Downs
Official on-site parking passes for Churchill Downs, particularly for the Kentucky Derby and Oaks, must be purchased in advance via Ticketmaster, the Churchill Downs app, or SeatGeek. Reserved lots include Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Red, Turquoise, White, and Yellow, with passes usually mailed. These are based on availability and must be purchased separately from Pegasus. We encourage clients to secure their parking pass during the ticket purchase process from Churchill Downs
VIP Private Pegasus Parking
Pegasus Global has several private lots adjacent to Churchill Downs. We can sell you safe, convenient, nearby parking if needed on both the Central Avenue side and Longfield Avenue side of Churchill Downs.
Why would I Need a Parking Pass?
You must have a parking pass because Churchill Downs doesn’t allow drop-off or pick-up, due to traffic and entrance restrictions.
Do You Require a Deposit?
To secure your reservation, we kindly ask for a 50% deposit. Please note that deposits become non-refundable after March 2, 2026. The remaining balance is due by April 20, 2026. If you have any questions or need assistance, we're always here to help!
How Much Time Should I Book the Vehicle and Chauffeur For?
A minimum of 12 hours of service is required for reservations on Friday and Saturday. Minimum requirements also apply to Thursday and Sunday, depending on the type of vehicle. Unlike some of our competitors, overtime is charged after 12 hours of service in 15-minute increments rather than charging a full hour if you only go over by a small amount. We will review all details with you before you book, so everything is clear.
Can I Decide What Kind of Vehicle I Want to Book?
It's important to remember that as Derby approaches, your choices will become more limited. However, all our vehicles are high-end, climate-controlled, and come with water included—so you can confidently choose any option.
Are There Any Other Fees?
If fuel prices reach or exceed $4.00 per gallon, a $100 per day, per vehicle charge will be applied for Friday & Saturday.
Do you also Offer Shuttle Services?

Once you decide to book Pegasus Global for your Derby transportation, the next steps are easy!
Pegasus Global will send a Derby Agreement detailing your request. Once you review, sign, and return the agreement we will process the deposit, create your reservations, and send official confirmations from our reservation system.
