Opened in 2018 on the first floor of the Frazier Kentucky History Museum, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Welcome Center is the official starting point for the trail. Access concierge services and trip-planning resources, and visit The Spirit of Kentucky® exhibition to learn about Bourbon whiskey’s history and culture.

What You'll See at the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Welcome Center

Concierge Service. The KBT® Welcome Center has a staff of friendly guest services professionals that can help you plan trips to Kentucky Bourbon distilleries throughout the state and navigate the hot spots of Louisville’s burgeoning Bourbon, culinary, and nightlife scenes.

Bourbon Distillery Videos. Having trouble deciding which KBT® experience to visit first? Check out the KBT® Welcome Center’s touch-screen maps of Kentucky, which feature short preview videos of each distillery or bottling plant.

Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Maps. We provide free maps for each trail to help you navigate your way through Kentucky’s Bourbon epicenter!

Artifacts & Replicas. Objects on display include an authentic whiskey thief and yeast jug, c. the 1930s; a replica late 18th-century copper whiskey still, and a facsimile of the May 4, 1964 Congressional resolution that designates Bourbon a “distinctive product of the United States.”

Facts & Trivia. What is Bourbon and how is it made? How was it distributed and regulated in the early days? And why is Bardstown the Bourbon Capital of the World? Wall-mounted text panels, diagrams, and digital timelines answer these and other questions about Bourbon.

DRINKiQ Stations. Touch-screen monitors mounted in whiskey barrels provide acces to the DRINKiQ quiz, a series of multiple-choice and true-false questions about alcohol consumption. Visitors who complete the quiz can obtain a small gift from the guest services staff.

Official Merchandise. Adjacent to the Welcome Center is the Museum Shop, which sells over 90 different brands of Bourbon and a wide variety of Bourbon-related merchandise — including Kentucky Bourbon Trail® hats, t-shirts, tote bags, lapel pins, popcorn, coffee mugs, rocks glasses, ornaments, and magnets.
